The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (by Catherynne Valente)

I'm not typing that again.

Once upon a time there was a girl named September who had been born in May, had a mole on her left cheek, and her feet were very large and ungainly. So the Green Wind took pity on her, and flew her away.

She didn't even bother to say goodbye.

The Wind takes her to Fairyland, but the once paradise is in turmoil.  September embarks on a quest to steal a spoon from an evil Marquess with the Wyvern E-L and a almost human boy named Saturday. This story is a cross between Alice in Wonderland and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It's really amazing. Some books are good, and some are AMAZING. This book is the latter.
